We are excited to invite you to join us at the upcoming third workshop of the “Innovative Netztechnologien” funding program, where UNIBERG plays an active role through several research projects.
At the event, our CEO, Andreas Möller, will share insights from the EConoM research project. EConoM strives to revolutionize the implementation of 5G campus networks in the construction sector by developing economically viable solutions that integrate edge computing, AI, and Building Information Modeling (BIM). The goal is to automate and streamline construction site management, paving the way for smarter, more efficient operations.
About the Workshop
The workshop will bring together technical experts to:
- Discuss the technical-functional requirements of Open RAN-based 5G networks
- See examples of Open RAN in the application context
- Explore knowledge transfer possibilities, such as blueprint development and the establishment of standards
Key discussion topics include:
- How open is Open RAN? Examining the interfaces required to create a disaggregated network architecture.
- Open RAN in campus vs. public networks: Exploring the distinctions and unique challenges.
- Use case requirements: Understanding the specific needs of different industrial sectors when it comes to Open RAN-based 5G networks.
What is Open RAN?
Open RAN is an evolving network architecture framework that allows for more open, interoperable, and flexible radio access networks. By decoupling hardware from software, Open RAN promotes vendor diversity and innovation, enabling tailored solutions for specific use cases and industries.
