UNIBERG’s Cooking for Charity 2022 at Teestube KONKRET in Darmstadt
As an annual tradition, UNIBERG, for the third year in a row, prepared a Christmas dinner for a homeless shelter.
Held on Friday, December 16th, our Cooking for Charity event was organized in collaboration with Diakonie Darmstadt to host a Christmas party for people in need at Teestube KONKRET. Teestube KONKRET is a social center with an attached day lounge area for people in need of housing. Among other things, our team from the Darmstadt branch prepared a 3-course menu for the approximately 130 registered visitors. UNIBERG’s Cooking for Charity has been a tradition for many years. We started the 2020 campaign at our Munich location, where we prepared a Christmas menu for 120 refugees in quarantine for the first time under COVID-19 restrictions. This initiative is an opportunity to shift our focus away from the stress of Christmas to the important aspects of life and to bring a little joy, especially at this time of year.
Besides cooking, our team helped with decorating, cleaning, and putting together small giveaway bags for the visitors.
It was great to see enthusiastic participation from all our team members in preparing the meal, packing gifts, and serving them to the visitors. The cooking activity was led by our CEO, Martin Ulbricht, who is also a trained chef and truly delivers a delicious meal every time.
